Welcome to Marlow, a beautiful riverside town
The beautiful picturesque riverside town of Marlow is the gem in the crown of the Thames Valley, boasting some of the very best restaurants, bars and places to visit, locally, along this famous stretch of the Thames.
Plenty to see and do
Marlow is a bustling and vibrant riverside town that has something for everyone. With its lovely shops, bars and restaurants there is more than enough to entertain you during your visit. And, for those of you who like the outdoors life, with access to the river through the beautiful Higginson Park, long walks are only a few steps away along the Thames.
The bustling town centre boasts 36 fabulous places to enjoy delicious food. Not forgetting, of course, the prestigious Hand and Flowers eatery, run by top chef Tom Kerridge, and awarded two michelin stars. Which, incidentally, was run previously by my Mother and Father for 22 years before Tom took over. Also, our favourite hidden gem the Vanilla Pod – great food and a wonderful atmosphere. The list goes on, there is something for everyone.
Fun on the Thames
During most of the year you can mess about on the river by either renting one of the many small motorised crafts available to rent or simply kick back and relax on a riverboat steamer to Windsor or Henley. There really is not another place like it along this beautiful stretch of the Thames with so much to offer.
Beauty around every corner
When visiting Marlow for those of you that enjoy getting out and about in the countryside you truly are spoilt for choice .
Marlow boasts some twenty-three beautiful woodland walks, all within a five mile radius of the town. And, with the beautiful hamlets of Hambeldon, Medmenham and Turville, used for many of the Midsummer Murder episodes, in close proximity, as well as the backdrops for movie sets and Disney films, you really are at the heart of breathtaking scenery and quaint villages.
Welcome to Marlow and all it has to offer, and remember your camera, just in case you bump into the odd film star whilst visiting the local pubs in these sleepy hamlets.
Around every corner, and in the most surprising places, the beauty of the Thames Valley continues to inspire and move you through its ever changing seasons.
